|Depps||I had a 2013 and it never leaked, the dealer talked me into trading it in for a 2014 2 months ago, and now it leaks like a sieve. Had it in once they replaced seal around passenger door and said all fixed..two days later saturated carpet again. Don't know why they can't fix this....should have stayed with my original one, UGH,|

|Lbear||My driver side floor got wet in my new 2013. Dealer fixed it and no problems since but they said some Jeeps are unrepairable and have taken one back they couldn't fix. So I guess it varies, and yes they have one of their techs who is their leak specialist. I'm now at 12k miles, had the freedom panels off a couple times and still no leaks, even in driving rainstorms. I agree with those who say "Jeep thing" should not be an excuse for leaks in a $30k+ vehicle.|

|johnb7467||Newest update 2 days after drying carpet again. Put a hand towel between the floor board and carpet padding. No rain and the towel is damp. Confirmation of my original diagnosis. Sweat coming from heat transfer from the resonator under drivers side floor board. I have pretty much decided i am going to remove resonator pipe. I have already installed a magna flow muffler and banks "ram air" intake. I really don't expect much if any performance gain, but some additional full pedal exhaust sound. Added benefit mostly will be no more hot sweating floor pan.|

Just a follow up to my original post from 8/29/13. I had the 2013 with the leak problem and the poor response from the local service department. Since then, spoke with another person at the same service department and have had great service. I am glad I didn't take some peoples' advice of "it's a Jeep, suck it up" as it ended up being a "simple" fix. The top was not sitting completely on the windshield frame so water was running down the edge of the frame, behind the trim and onto the floor board. They adjusted the windshield frame so the top sat on the seal better and have had zero problems since.
When I took it in, after a significant storm, and pointed out that the carpet was soaked in the floor pan but not at all wet up under the dash, they were able to narrow their search and find the problem.
I hope the rest of you find solutions to your leak issues. Happy trails.

|motojavaphil||My 2013 HT does not leak although living in NM I am not confronted by lots of moisture. Having said that I have had it in some pretty good downpours without leakage. Having the Freedom Top and having the tops off at times I always clean the rubber seals prior to reinstallation. An old habit from British Sports Car days. Jeeps seem to rely on seals more than other vehicles to keep the wet out IMHO. Definitely visit the Dealer and get it fixed, it is an investment in fun, not soaking your feet.|

|Drock1979||13 jkr leaks from top rear seam, PISSED. had it "serviced" twice for this issue. This time they adjusted the door catch. its a long way from the fabric top rear seam and the water would need to travel up to get there but i was assured it remained bone dry when water tested. lol third jeep and first one to leak, not a jeep thang boys don't kid yourselves. Jeeps are meant to get wet when you choose to remove the top and splash in the creek or get caught with it down in the rain not all sealed up. I plan to return to dealership upon next leak with a bad attitude and several cans of whoop ass! Three strikes and its on! lol.|

|johnb7467||New to this forum as i was searching for an answer. My 2013 Sahara hard top has always had a damp area under the drivers side floor mat. I have had it for 3 months now. We had had several rainy days in n Fl since i purchased it. I have the slush mats in it. I had assumed it was coming from the poor design of these mats as the hole for the holder allows all of the water to go through it. Last week i pulled up the carpet and the pan was saturated! along with the carpet insulation and the white maxi pad looking insulator glued to carpet pad. I dried everything completely and put back together. 2 days later same thing but no rain. The problem is resonator is causing so much heat the steel is sweating under the drivers side carpets "maxi pad", its like a sponge. This exhaust pc is directly under drivers side floor. I drive about 4 miles in city traffic from work to home. I pulled up the carpet when i got home and i could see the beads forming on the hot steel floor pan. This is a problem, and i need to get it to the dealer or remove the resonator and put in a straight pipe if Jeep cannot fix it. I don't know how it could be fixed. All heat shields are there and they glued the heat absorbing "maxi pad" to the carpet padding. Tells me they knew there was an issue with heat transfer. It is a sight to see sweat beads forming on the floor pan right before my eyes. All others with damp carpet...You really may not have a leak like you think. Check it out, grab the mat hook and lift your carpet up and feel the extreme heat and dampness on the floor pan after a short drive.|

|gillis||Should I slice the carpet to get it out from around seat brace or do I have to remove seat to remove front passenger carpet. I pulled little tab out but carpet goes around brace.|

|snobnk||I got a buy back on my 11 that leaked both doors,and rear..4 times in for service and one final chance to fix...I'm now in a 12 no leaks,,,knock wood but it will happen at least have almost 2 years pd on it|

|donmeca2020||i would not accept a leaking roof especially on a 2013 or 14 model.... if i paid $30k or more then i would be at that dealership telling them each and every problem. i would expect leaking from a 10 to 15 year old car not something thats brand new. that is definetly not a jeep thing unless all of you are willing to accept flaws on a brand new vehicle.|

You dont say!!! I noticed that regardless of having my soft top or hard top on it leaks the same. I'll have to start there and see if that can fix it!

Jeep is replacing my soft top next week. If it becomes a repeat problem then we need to start talking hardtop.
I pretty much told the service advisor jeep it till you can duplicate the problem. By noon they hadn't duplicated the issue. Found out they had some 18 yr old kid simply spray it down with a pressure washer.
After suggesting they let the water flow over the top from a hose, about 30 minutes later the seam was leaking on the top.
Sure it's not conveiant being without transportation, but it's not designed to leak so they should make it right.

Eh, I have had two leaks in my 2012. Both repaired by the dealership. Most have leak "specialists" to take care of this stuff. In my case they ended up replacing the door seals on front driver and passenger doors. Not too big a deal, although it was a pain in the butt taking my Jeep in and leaving it for a day both times and being without my ride.
Now I am more concerned about my Pentastar problem with my tick and CEL coming on. Finally going to take it in and droop her off today for this issue. Hope they get it taken care of right.
While I do love my Jeep, she has been in the shop quite a few times already for leaks, parts coming off that shouldn't (another story), and now engine issues....

The dealership might not know how or care to fix it. Do some research and talk to other dealerships.

My 13' hasn't leaked a drop, and I've been in some big rains. Never had the top off but the t-tops have been off several times. I've been really happy with mine. If I ever get a leak I can figure it out. Sometimes paying attention to the details is what's most important.
Back in 1978 I bought a Northface K-2 tent. It cost $450.00 I still use it and it's never leaked. It came with Easton poles and they're still like new. Really a good tent.

You're missing out on a ton of fun in the mean time.
better off not sweating the small stuff so much as life has a way of passing you by.
Sure some leak...some don't.
Eventually you will get some kind of leak and you deal with it.
Clean the seals...trace the leak and correct it.
The redesign I'm sure will come with its own set of new issues ...still a Jeep so it will leak at some point.
Does water come gushing in ... nope.
Should a 30k vehicle have any leak well then you have to weigh that in your head. Most likely from your post you don't get it and never will.
FIAT has had some interesting visual designs so I for one didn't want to chance the change for sure.
Maybe best to move along and get an ordinary sealed SUV.

|Wrangler2016||The current generation are garbage and prone to leak. Do what I'm doing and wait for the redesign. Hopefully it happens in 2016, if not, I'll wait until it does. A new car should lot leak, no matter what some here might say.|

I have a 2011. Bought it this past November. Noticed in Spring that every time it rained I had wet front passenger carpet. Actually saw the water coming in front passenger door area near the front "corner". I don't know if its worth it to take to the dealer because I don't even know how I will prove its leaking, not to mention I don't want them tinkering around with a tonne of things to possibly not even fix it. Seems like I should try resealing my front cowl and possibly the top corner where the hard top attaches? Thoughts? Any of you with this leak find a consistent spot it came in and manage to fix it?
PS. I also don't buy the "its a Jeep it will happen" stuff. Its a quality vehicle and I understand its made to play hard and get a bit dirty, but that doesn't mean I won't try to rectify defects.
