|Lookin2buy||Rubberized undercoating works real well for anything you are considering bedlining....it's not as textured as a real bed liner is. SEM makes an excellent one though I believe Duplicolor has one that should be easy to find...|

|richsipe||Which brand of bedliner did you use? I recently bedlined my sub box in the back and am super happy with how it looks. I was just surprised it took an entire can! I am also looking to do my handles as they look as ugly as everyone else's.|

After looking at the sticky thread on the TJ page about removing the door handles i decided that i was just going to tape em' off. I cover about 2.5 feet in each direction but i have heard that you only need to do 10 inches as bedliner is different than spray paint. I just sanded them down ( doesnt have to be perfect, I focused mostly on the rust) and painted them with even strokies and i would say that i did 3 layers. My tips for you are to make sure your paper is thick enough because you will be doing 3+ coats it can soak through and pull the tape off while they are still wet, in case some leaks under it will just wipe off!

If you just masked them off, how large of an area did you protect around? Also how many coats did they take?
I love the look especially with how bad mine look right now.

Bed Liner/ plastic paint
This is my jeep:
It's real great I'm here because i have some questions about bed-lining and plastic painting plastic. I don't really want to do the entire tub here's a few pictures of what i was thinking of doing feel free to weigh in.
The hinges on the tailgate. They have started peeling and have become quite unsightly. Still function flawlessly which i guess is why i'm not even remotely interested in purchasing replacements. Thinking of bedlining these.
Fender Flares, I feel like just about everyone does this looking for any tips or tricks to make them really last as far as chipping or peeling goes.
This door handle is rusting the other one is not. Not quite sure what gives but i'd definitely be interested in doing something about this. Rust-oleum or bed-liner or what have you.
Feel free to weigh in on any of this i'd also like to do my door hinges, end caps to my bumpers, the bumpers themselves, and the crossbar that sits behind the grill and in front of my radiator (might need temp paint for that).
