Maxxrus08 Thanks for the info. I was able to trace the brake light wire all the way back to the Wiring harness that comes out the fuse box. There was a short or something wrong with the wire. I cut it and spliced in a new line which fixed the problem. I am so glad that there is not much to a YJ.

Thanks again for the help

heh1994 Not positive, but you might have some luck looking in a Haynes manual or something similar. Or you can follow the ground wire back, if you do find it try cleaning it with some electrical parts cleaner and a wire brush. Good luck!

Maxxrus08 Where do the tail light units ground at?

kik Other than a bad bulb, tail light is on one filament and brake/turn signal is on another, you're probably looking at a bad ground.

turn signal help

Hi all, i need some help with a signal and break light issue. Passenger rear running light works but no break or signal. Changed flasher unit and even swapped both rear light units to see if one was bad. But both worked correctly when plugged into the driver side. Just don't understand it. Any ideas?
