Obtaining a recreational off-road vehicle permit for using an ATV, ATC, swamp buggy or street legal 4 X 4 in Big Cypress National Preserve is a three step process. An operator's permit, an inspection sticker and an annual vehicle permit are required to operate an OHV in the Preserve.
Croom Motorcycle Area
Croom Motorcycle Area is Florida's only state-run off-road park. It is located 40 miles north of Tampa along I-75 at exit 301 at SR50. Nestled in the Withlacoochee State Forest, this 2600-acre riding area features a campground, two day-use parking areas and enough variety of terrain for all skill levels.
Favorite Ride Spots
Directions and details to riders' favorite spots including: Daytona Beach Dunes, Croom, Dixie Hollands Place, and Ocala National Forest.
Felda Motorsports Park
Located on 640 Acres in Hendry County Florida, Felda Motorsports Park is the place for fun in the mud!
Ocala National Forest
The Ocala National Forest offers many enjoyable locations to ride Off Road Vehicles. While the Forest Service has not designated or marked specific ORV trails, there are many unnumbered roads and travel ways that zigzag throughout the forest where you may ride.
Osceola National Forest

Withlacoochee State Forest

CAREFUL!!! This is true for all Florida National Forests; $550 fine per incident:

Motor Vehicle Use
Within the Osceola National Forest, motorized vehicles are allowed on some roads and prohibited on others.
Vehicles are permitted only on numbered roads. These roads are clearly marked with road signs, designating
them for vehicular use. Motorized vehicles are not allowed on unmarked roads. All roads without road
signs are closed to all motorized vehicles. Any forest visitor riding an unlicensed vehicle like an ATV or trail
bike must stay on roads designated for unlicensed vehicles. If a road is open to unlicensed vehicles, it will
be marked with a road sign depicting a jeep, motorcycle and ATV; indicating the road is for mixed use. All
visitors are expected to adhere to all rules and regulations. A detailed motor vehicle use map can be obtained
from the Osceola district office, the Olustee Depot Visitor Center or from Osceola National Forest - Home.

Blackened Anyone know of any scenic off road trails around Lutz, Wesley Chapel, Land O Lakes or North Tampa? Doesn't have to be a real changeling trail but I have heard of some dirt roads around Wesley Chapel/N Tampa but I can't seem to find them.

Miguedona21 I hear that there are some trails in new Tampa. Idk if you guys have places in mind but let's discuss possible places. I get my 4.88's put in this week, meaning I need some dirt! Lol I've also heard about Gandy? I don't think there are many trails but it's on the beach.

Ocala has some seasonal areas that we have to be mindful of. Hard Rock is a $25/day fee. The place in Pasco is wide open.
