andrew127 Yes thats what it is for. Jeeps all come from the factory with the same wiring harness, makes it easier for them to hook everything up. My 97 has a 2.5L engine, and I have about 6 connectors for sensors and options that my jeep never had. hope this info helps

Open connector under dash?

I found a 2 wire connector under the dash near the steering column not connected to anything. I tracked it down in my service manual, but I can't figure out what it does. It's for the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock Solenoid. I wanna say that its for an automatic transmission to sense if the brake pedal is pressed before moving the shifter from park, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
