OK, I think now I get your question.
You are referring to WD40 ?
Open your doors and keep them open.
WD40 comes with tiny little straw. Stick this in to any opening that you can find, and start spraying inside of your doors. Keep the doors open, because there will be lots of dripping, from the two wholes below the door. At the start you can use these two little holes at the bottom to spray from them. Make sure you spray (heavy) all of your door locks too.

Just do the search here and as this guy above said 303 is good too, for your plastic parts (although just like me he didn't give you full name of the product).
Also, go to Sears and buy the spray can of rust protection called
Boeshild T9. That is the best stuff in the world, developed by Boeing Co.
Wash your engine (if it's dirty) and (when it's dry) spray this stuff over all metal parts (above and especially - under). That will make your engine look like new all year long.
Do this once or twice a year.

Since you don't have many replies, here is my take (although I am new here but I had tons of cars, pickups and couple of Jeeps before).
First - you have 3.8 L engine.
Change the oil right away - you don't know who change it and when.
Take your manual and use whatever weight Jeep recommends.
Go with synthetic. I am with Mobile 1 for the last 15 years and very happy.
I change mine every 5,000 ml.
Wash the Jeep (in and out). Wash it underneath. If it looks decent, either buy 3M undercarriage protection (like 3-4 cans) and spray the heck out of it, or take it to the pro, and do the protection.
With every Jeep, I do this :
I buy 3-4 cans of WD40, and I soak the inside of the doors with it (the rear gate as well). Spray the heck INSIDE of doors so when this drys out there will be nice layer of protection against any moist that will creep in.
As far as wax - you have tons of options out there. Rule of thumb - buy more expensive ones and you will be fine. I use Mothers and I love it.
As far as plastics go :
Stay away from Armor-all. Garbage. Shiny garbage which attracts dirt.
I am using some product from California. Forgot the name, and I am in the office now. Something like Black Max or something like that. Do the search here.

Mothers back to black is also amazing for taking care of any sun fade u get on the plastic. Living in AZ we get some brutal sun but we're adamant about keeping that on hand. Harley is 3 years old now and you'd never know it to look at her. No sun fade at all thx to that stuff. And the fenders were grey the first time we did it. So it works.
I'm a fan of the turtle wax ice for waxing the jeep. It's easy to get back off and if you get it on the plastic it won't leave the white streaks like most other waxes.
Oil is a whole other conversation that I'm going to intentionally skip.

There are plenty of products out there, and I think a lot of people on here use the 303 protectorant for the fenders and bumpers. As far as wax goes, like stated above, everyone has their own preference. I personnally use Turtle Wax and Turtle Wax Trim Restorer on the bumper and fenders.
The different numbers on the oil refers to their viscosity, which is about all I know about that. The jeep has a computer in it that will tell you when it needs the oil changed. I think the manual says every 6 months or 6000 miles is recommended. Following the recommended maintenance or even doing it a little more frequently than recommended will help in keeping the jeep last.

New to wranglers and have some questions
I previously owned a 99 Grand Cherokee that my mom had bought for me. Now I just got a 2010 2DR Wrangler Sport with the 3.6 (might be the 3.8 ill have to check) v6 with 12.5k miles. Since it is the first time i have purchased a car I want to take care of my baby.
The first set of questions has to do with appearance. What does everyone use in terms of taking care of the paint, and plastic fenders? I would like to wash and wax my car a couple times a year to keep it looking new. It is the soft top so what do you all use to take care of the top and windows to prevent them from fading and unnecessary aging?
The second set comes down to engine care. I have not made the decision yet to start doing my own oil changes but I would like to know how. Where on the forum can I look for step by step tutorial on how to do this? I am also looking into synthetic oil and blends? I am not asking which is best, I just want the pros and cons to they types of oils so I can make an informed decision. I am in NJ and this is going to be my daily driver. Its going to see hot days, maybe some sand from the beach now and then, salt in the winter, snow, cold days, etc etc. Not sure if that comes into great effect. Also what is the difference between oils that say 10W-30, 10W-40, 5W-20, and so on? What do those numbers mean? I have been seeing i should change my oil at about 5-7k miles and not 3-4.5k is this true?
So last, I want to be proud of my new wrangler and take the best possible care of her. If their is anything else i should know to help make her last as long as possible any information is appreciated.
