|ntwrkguru||Thanks Joker. That's what I had planned on doing, but wanted to see if there was something that was "supposed" to be there, or if this is just a Jeep thing. For all I know, the new and old master cylinders were cheap Chinese knock-offs and not built to OEM specs.|

|jokerchief462||Go to the parts house and see if they have some sheet material you can make a gasket/spacer from. Just cut one up using the master outline as a guide and then cut it out. Best solution. I looked oin FSM and it has nothing on the install to indicate a gasket is there and the parts manual doesn't list any parts for a gasket at the firewall. So take a look make something to give you the space you need.|

87 BA10 clutch master cylinder leaks around fuse panel?
Tried a search, but VBulletin search is not exactly Google...
Anyway, I replaced my the clutch master cylinder on my 87 with a BA10 trans because it was leaking around the rear seal. The new one, I noticed, also leaks...but it looks as if the rear seal hits the fuse panel bracket. (Based on the rust on the fuse panel bracket it's been that way for some time!) When I yanked the old one, there was no gasket/spacer on the engine side of the firewall to pull the seal away from the fuse panel frame, but it looks as if there should be. Anyone know if there was/should be some sort of spacer there?
