Jeep Dad I have done this very repair and its not bad. I drilled out the old bolt and tapped the hole to accept a spare bolt I had in my extra parts can. I don't remember what size bit I used but I went in to drill out the whole bolt. I tried easy outs first with no luck.

door strap bolts replacement

02 Wrangler TJ - friend opened door on decline and didn't hold on. it swung open and snapped the bolts where the strap is attached to the door. The bolts broke in half and actually bent the metal where they were in the door. It appears I will have to drill out the old bolts and replace with larger ones in the same hole?

I need some help here from anyone that has done this before or someone that can help me navigate through this process. Thanks!!
