Wrangler40L Check the wire connections, one could have been pulled off the wire when the trany was dropped.

RUBI 4 MY MRS Start by pulling the starter relay & finding terminals #85 & #86 in the socket. With a test light test both terminals for ground. One should be grounded, usually 85. The other one that is not grounded, usually 86, needs to get power when you turn the key to the start position. Report findings.

Starting problem

I have a 2000 tj, manual, 4.0L. I dropped my tranny and replaced the clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate.

After that I went to start it and nothing happens.

I checked the battery connections, replaced the starter, replaced the starter relay, checked all of my fuses. I also bypassed the safety neutral switch as well. Nothing. So I ran a wire from my battery to a switch inside my jeep and then another wire from the switch to my starter. with that i put the key in the run/start position and flip the switch and it starts right up.

Im not sure what is preventing me from starting it up the normal way. any ideas???
