|DarylJHewitt||You will mostly likley need to use the ECU from the 04 engine and im not sure whether or not the wiring harnesses are compatable you may need to change that as well.|

|slf41002||That is why you would use the 4L60 or 700R4 tranny and NOT the one from the 4 cyl!!!!|

|Giancarlo||swapping in a chevy is not as simple as swapping a straight six.. the 4 bangers tranny will be to weak for that motor|

|ExDementia||If your already going through all the work why not put a 6 or bigger in? If you swap in a Chevy 5.3 out of a 1500 series, you will get probably about the same mpg, but with more than double the power your I4 made.|

|Giancarlo||well the engines wiring and ignition system will be different|

|slf41002||We do not have very many Wranglers in my town and no 4 bangers at all.huhhh are the 2.4 and 2.5 the same other than the bore???????|

|slf41002||flattie tj is correct the 04 is a 2.4L so i am really not sure if it will swap for the 2.5!!!|

|slf41002||Just going to bump because I am not 100% sure but I would say the engines are the same although you may have to use your intake and a few other thing from your original engine.But I think the engines are the same.But like I said with the 4cyl I am not 100% sure of that.|

|flattietj||upgrade to a 6 while your in there.......you will be much happier......i think the 04 will be a 2.4l and be different|
