clutch rattle

well it just started on the way home for work. there is some play in the clutch. like when i press it or let off it rattles cause theres play and when i let my foot off it falls back to the resting point causing the rattle. it seems there is some play because i got home and wiggled the thing and it will wiggle back and forth and clank. maybe just a loose bolt?
