damndirtydog I've had mine uncovered for about 2 yrs. It sees a lot of rain here in FL. No worse for wear. It looks a little weathered, but not too bad and works fine. I bought a cover for it but I can't get it on and have it stay in place because the winch is recessed into the bumper and its tight quartes on the XRC bumpers so I just leave it off and wipe it down with a protectant and it's good to go.

Winch cover

Is it necessary to keep my winch covered? I park inside, but it does get rain and snow when out and about.
