I also haven't done the Santa Clarita run, but have done Cleghorn and Calico.
Cleghorn is more of a beginner to intermediate run. Calico is intermediate to advanced, a locker would be helpful. For Calico, lots of armor is suggested -- diff covers, rails, etc. Cleghorn you'd be fine with just rock rails. Many have done it bone stock with no armor.

|JPetru82||looks like it'll be a busy couple of day. I'm doing Santa Clarita on Sunday, then out to the desert till the first, where I hope to make it back in time for the Cleghorn run. I can just imagine my gas bill after this trip.|

Well there are 3. Cleghorn which is a good run is on the 26th. Santa Clarita is on the 29th. I don't know them but i've heard Bouquet canyon is great. Calico Canyon is on the 28th to the 31st. That one is gonna be awesome. Look up Calico gatekeeper. Do all three.

|crittert||This is going to get you very biased answers because I can almost guarantee you noone has done the Santa Clarita run. These are mostly unexplored trails that I have found. I have never done cleghorn so I can't speak for it. I of course, vote for Santa Clarita!|

SoCal Jeepers: whats better?
I'm down for the holidays and want to do some wheeling. There are two runs going on next Sunday. Cleghorn and Santa Clarita. What are some pros and cons for each? which would you chose?
