jpdocdave i'd go with badfish. just set the toe close to zero(same measurement on both sides of the tire), and get it aligned.

BeerMonkeY no measuring the front edge of the wheels and the back edge would tell you if the tie rod is to short or to long (if the front measurment is longer than the back then the tires are toed out if the front measurment is smaller than the back side then the tires are pointing in

Badfish yea all measuring from the tires would do is tell you that both front wheels are pointing in the wrong direction together. if you measure form the rear of the rear wheel to the front of the front wheel on both sides this should get you a much closer allignment to get to the shop. or if you have a long and strait enough piece of metal or wood you can just place it against the rims in the same place, right in the middle, and do this on both sides to get it kinda alligned. make sure the pole or bar is touching both rims on all four points.

Need tie rod bar measurement please.

I put a jk d44 axle in the front of my tj. I was wondering if someone could measure there tie rod bar from center of ball joint to center of ball joint. I want to get the measurement close so I can drive it to the alignment shop. Thanks.
