Blower Fan Motor Noise (Iced Tea)

My son's friend dropped iced tea all over the passenger floor. The next day the heater fan blower is making a crazy noise. I noticed the housing is directly under the glove box. Could it just be a coincidence or could that iced tea have caused it (the housing was wet). Anyway, it needs a fix so does anyone have suggestions? Otherwise Im heading to the dealer in a few days. 2010 Jeep JKU.
