distortedtj For the little bit wider tire you got, the washers will be fine.

You can shave down the bumpstops. and cut the third brakelight to fit if you take your time with it. You can also remove the factory third brake light and run a 2'' red light in your center cap if you have a factory wheel that will work with it.

jgano23 do you mean you tightened the lug nuts down that tight? if so loosen them up. i keep the lugs on the spare 1 to 1.5 turns past hand tight. i have 31" x 10.5" mud tires and don't have that problem.

Spare Tire Mount

Hey everyone. My jeep is completely stock, The size tires my jeep came with is 225/75R15s. When i bought my jeep they came with street tires. I wanted a more aggressive tread pattern for some mild off roading and trail riding. The size i put on was Goodyear Wrangler silentarmor 235/75R15s, they are a little bigger then what my jeep came with but still a nice size. Yesterday i decided to get a spare to match my tires. When i put the new tire on the mount and tightened it down it pushed my 3rd light back till it almost touched the rear window and when i opened up the endgate there was so much pressure that it was hard to close with the tire hitting the bump stops. I decided to put several washers on the studs to hold out the tire and rim so it wouldn't put so much pressure on the endgate latch and bump stops. Do you think this is ok doing this, or should i look for a new spare tire mount?
