|whitebuffalo||it might have jarred the sector shaft and trashed the seal. you can use a pickle fork to pop the draglink off of the pitman arm, or better yet since you're gonna replace the box, rent/borrow a pitman arm puller to remove itfrom the box. spray it with somepb blaster beforehand to make it a little easier|

alright, im just trying to figure this out. Last night I hit a huge hole on the side of the road and my steering wheel got knocked uncentered. I didnt think anything of it at the time, nothing underneath is bent and I didnt see anything out of the ordinary with the steering box, but today after work I heard a whine and got home to see my steering box leaking fluid fast. Now my PS pump is empty and I have no idea what happened to cause this.
Now I have my steering box off the frame but I cant disconnect it from the steering shaft to see whats up. Anyone have any good tricks to getting this thing off the jeep?

Re-Centering The Steering Wheel?
Is it really that easy? I have had my Sport for about 3 weeks and the steering wheel is off center and it really bugs me, but if it is that easy Iam going home to fix it tonight! Thanks for the info, Scooby
