|pauly21mc||You can legally "wheel" in CT as long as you are on established roads or private property which you have permission to be on. ie. You can wheel places like green rd. In Ellington or Porter rd. Also in Ellington. You can also "wheel" state Forrest access roads which are marked and if the gates are open. But yes wheeling in CT is generally frowned upon and is considered to be illegal.|

|umk4zack||I would love to wheel in CT, but don't know anywhere to. I'm from the New Haven county, so if anyone wheels, let me know. I also have buddy who wants to wheel|

Any wheeling in Connecticut is illegal
The guys I've been with told me they have passed DEP and other police and just got a nice wave. General rules for anywhere:
Don't tear stuff up
Don't be loud
Don't go out at night
Be street legal
And nobody really cares.

Is that place is a legal spot?

WillyWheeler, there is a Friday night meet up at Heavenly Doughnuts in Derby. Look it up on Facebook. Here is the link:

I've been to Middletown and East Haddam
Middletown is pretty light, more dirt than rock.
East Haddam has "options" for pretty much any hill climb/decent whether you want rocks or mostly dirt. It's a lot more technical.

|WillyWheeler||I'm in Derby, but it seems like all the meet ups are up north in Windsor.|

|acf5||Yep, somewhat I guess. Whereabouts are you?|

|hmell||Is this thread still going? I just got (Back) into the jeep game with a new 2014 2 dr!|

|acf5||My turn signal lights keep blowing on my flares. I'm waiting to see what's causing it once the back glass is replaced. Maybe I'll have some insight|
|01-27-2014 09:20 PM|
I know I need to replace the sockets in all front markers, as they are corroded. I'm guessing that the corrosion + the burned/shorted bulb both contributed to the condition. I'm not looking forward to what the stealerships have for price points on replacement sockets for the four front marker lights. I suppose I should suck it up sooner than later but I will wait for a warm-spell: buy them/do them or they will wind up lost and forgotten in the garage!
YMMV, and invariable will...

|scooter185||Being a holiday On Track Karting in Wallingford is opening at 10am, and I'm planning on making a trip down. Would be cool to race against some of you other CT Jeepers!|

|scooter185||What's your guys opinion on go kart racing...|

The only thing limiting me going off-road is my mother. She insists I cannot go alone (as in only one in my vehicle) and she won't want to bounce around. So that leaves father, who works weekends often.
How can I convince my mother I will be fine with the other people (in 4runners and FJ Cruisers) in a group?

:SIGH: I work on Sundays.
Keep me posted if you have any Saturday meetings or events. Wifey and I would like to come out and play sometime!

Howdy from Stamford!
Wish I could make it up to the meeting today, but I'm knee deep in prepping for the arrival of my new JKURX. Heading up to the dealer in Danbury tomorrow night to trade my '12 JK and check out the new rig which just arrived at the dealer on Friday! It's immediately going in for a 2.5" AEV lift and Duratrac 35s wrapped around the black Pintlers I'm transferring over from my JK so I hopefully will bring her home by the end of the week! Then the real fun starts when I get to work adding all the goodies (bumpers/winch/lighting/audio) that came off my JK plus a few other things the wife allowed me to buy for the new rig; a consolation present for me giving up the 2 dr. in anticipation of the arrival of our first child... thankfully I have until early June to "finish" it.
Hope to be able to join up with the club later this winter/spring or at the very least meet a few local Jeep addicts.

Ok so if you have read all of this thread from the beginning you have noticed it has grown from some people meeting up for summer get-togethers to a club called ECOJOCS (East Coast Offroad Jeepers of Connecticut).
Some of you were there from the beginning and some are new to the thread.
This Sunday at noon, ECOJOCS is having its monthly meeting and membership is open. Come check us out and meet a great group of guys and gals and learn about us and hopefully if you like what you hear you will join our group.
Location is at UNION STREET TAVERN 20 Union St, Windsor, CT 06095. Sunday the 12th at noon.
Come check us out.
