I'm in Rockville Md and in the midst of picking up my first Wrangler, the only issue I foresee as mentioned in the posts is the aftermarket stuff that won't pass inspection.
Is there a specific inspection place that is recommended around my neck of the woods?

Luckily you only need to pass once in MD. One time inspection state ftw...unless you get a fix it ticket. I have not been bothered one bit about my tires sticking past the flares. Cops love it lol
edit...just realized how old this was

technically body lifts will not pass inspection in MD...technically...it all depends on where you go...my advice, look for some side of the road gas station that is falling apart...
ditto with what was said about the bumper height and tire size by dan, one thing he didn't mention was that you don't ever have to get it re-inspected again in MD...just one time to title it and thats it...if you get caught out with a "modified suspension and tires" the lovely police officer will give you a "repair order" so keep a set of stock wheels/tires handy to swap on, then you can take it to the state police barracks and have it signed off on by the trooper...return home and go right back the way you were

|jeeperman Dan||bring it to Maryland, the bumper reqirement is 27 or 28" and your tires can't stick out past fenders(not flares, but fenders)and within specks of the original tire size.so in other words get a set of original tires and stick them on and check bumpers(plus make sure all lights work and good brakes and wiper blades and tires have to be good(no dry rot or bald tread, just common stuff)I got mine inspected with a 4" suspension and 2" body with standard jeep tires, then I trew my 35's back on after inspection and went on my way.good luck|

My YJ and MD state inspection
Hey everyone - help me out please! Getting ready to move from KY to MD and the requirements in the state of MD are very different than KY...
Does anyone know if there are any heighth requirements for the inspection OR if there is a needed difference between a body lift or suspension life in terms of heighth?
Does anyone know of a link to the actual requirements of the MD state inspection?
Thanks so much - need to know whether or not to take my Jeep back to MD or to sell it while I am still in KY!
