I got the banks monster exhaust system i too thouht the tip stuck out to far so i cut 2" off the tail pipe no more trail abuse!

AlexS a lot of people suggest the stock size to keep the same back pressure when going into water. If you make it too big the engine wont be able to keep the water out

Thanks for the input, I don't go wreck less wheeling though, I do moderate/ mild max

Moabrubi Stick with the smaller pipe. Clearances are tight between the rear passenger shock and the exhaust. If you are wheeling you want a tip that has the least chance of getting smooshed. My ginormous Banks tip has been squished more then a couple times.

Exhaust size and what tip to get?

Ive decided to go with a flowmaster super 44 muffler and am going to replace the rusted brownish stainless steel stock tail pipe with some new stainless steel 14 gauge pipe and was wondering if i should stick with the 2.25inch or go with a 2.5 inch tail pipe? I know about the whole backpressure torque issue but was wondering more about the sound aspect and how much i would be getting out of going bigger and what not? Also i want a stainless steel flowmaster tip, should i go with one thats rounded and comes out the back under the bumper for style or a turndown one? Do they add any different tones to it?
