Just as Mr. Bransford pointed out, There is a relay box on the passanger side fenderwell under the hood. There is a 20a fuse on line 19 that I have removed and placed it in a empty slot till I find the "wire". Hope this helps out.

|Jerry Bransford||Your fog lights are controlled by a relay which is probably inside the power distribution center on the passenger-side fenderwell, inside the engine compartment. My TJ didn't come with fog lights so I can't say for sure that's where that relay is but I'd look there first. You can always just pull the relay until you can figure out the real source of the problem.|

|firemedickip||I have the same prob. Mine is that the switch is bad and it wont close the contact completley. If I push in on the end of the lever they go off, let off the switch, they come on. I just take out the fuse. I am trying to find this same mysterious wire that you are, so I can bypass it and make a new switch. If you find out, please let me know.|

bad switch for OEM fog lights
My stock fog lights keep staying on and draining my battery, leaving me stranded. Anyone know where I can find that wire under the dash and put a switch and bypass it? my rig is a 2002 TJ and the fog light switch is on my turn signal lever you pull it out to turn them on. I looked in my Haynes manual but was not sure don't want to cut the wrong wire.
