WICruiser I am currently doing a SBC conversion and decided to go with the NV3550 5 speed transmission. It is basically a newer version of the AX-15 along with the original NV231 transfer case.

My choice was based primarily on the desire to retain overdrive to keep highway engine speeds down to something reasonable for the V8. However, it really depends on what your plan is (daily driver, or crawler, or?) and tire size you are running (or plan to run).

Yj Engine Swap

Hey guys, I currently have the 1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ with the 4 banger and I am getting tired of not having enough power. I have a ford 289 small block sitting at the house that I am currently rebuilding to install in my jeep. My question is what transfer case and tranny combo do I need to use with this engine? Preferably 5 speed manual transmission.
