Thanks for the responses. Looks like my best option is just to pull a tire and take a look at the end of the shaft. The cold weather doesn't motivate me to do any wrenching.
From my understanding a person could put new 30 spline axle shafts in but with out a locker. I understand that the carrier would need to be upgraded to support the 30 splines? Would the stock dana 30 and dana 35 support 4.56 with out a new carrier?

|Jerry Bransford||Super 35 kits don't come with a truss. Yep, look at the axle shaft mounting flange through the hole in the wheel. If it's an aftermarket Super 35 shaft, the manufacturer will be proud enough of it that his logo will be there.|

It'll be a full case locker w/o spider gears if it's super. Someone smarter than me will remember better but super 35s come with a truss?
edit you can also jack it up and see how many times you have to turn the driveshaft for 1 full tire rotation

Does it have a locker in the rear?
I also believe the end of the axle shafts (on the wheel side) will have a superior logo/stamp/sticker on them. You can also pull the shaft and count the splines.

Identify a Super 35.
I have a 2001 Sport, I6, 5spd that I believe has been regeared to 4.56. I say believe because I have not cracked open the diff yet to take a look. I have came to this conclusion based upon the following.
Never the less I do plan on opening up the diff soon to change fluids, I'll count teeth to get an accurate ratio. While I have the diff open is there any possible way of identifying if this has been upgraded to a Super 35? I appreciate any help that I can get.
