|daddyjeep||Spent the evening in the shop...working on my son's suzaphone. He is marching in a parade in Disney next week and wanted his suzaphone redone. Pain in the ass. There were several layers of paint including one layer of latex house paint. Got it all down to the gel coat and spot puttied a few nicks and put a later of filler on the bell. Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow and maybe do some work on the Jeep.|

|daddyjeep||I appreciate the support. Atlanta was for work anyway. Saving vacation for Jeep festivals.|

Vacation always gets u slack but I am excited to see the progress start again.
This is definitely my favorite build I have stumbled across so far.

|daddyjeep||Actually I was in Atlanta last week. Does that get me a little slack? I'm getting on it. Bantam is coming fast.|

Holy cow! I thought you went on vacation down south or something. I was wondering where you got to. lol.
Let's see some progress up there aye?
I want to see that thing on the teeter totter at Bantam this year.

|daddyjeep||Nope....moving sucks. I should be getting back to work on it this week. I have to move a couple work benches in the shop so I can actually be organized and then its go time.|

Got the Jeep moved to the new shop today. Hopefully I can get back to work on it soon.
Leaving tiny old shop.
Arriving at new shop.
Kinda gets lost in there.

|daddyjeep||I've never missed it. My Jeep has missed a couple though. Unless something drastic happens the Jeep will be done. A couple more weeks we will be settled in the new house and I can get back to work on the Jeep.|

hahah so good he read it twice!

Yea...I am sure McMaster will have something. I get a fair amount of stuff there for home and work.
Nothing too exciting tonight. I started running brake lines. My LED back up lights came in too.

|0III0forlife||For the latch issues that you were wondering about on the rear wheel wells. Check out McMaster-Carr. www.mcmaster.com. They have all kinds of industrial latches an bolts and everything else that you can think of. I personally use them for all of my "specialty" bolts. They even have military grade 9 available. I got the cantilever latch that I used on my spare tire carrier there as well.|

|daddyjeep||Twelve pages might seem like a lot, but this thread is 2 1/2 years old. I think it shows that I am a slacker.|

Got the bumper and winch mounted tonight. The wife thinks I should paint my shackles green to match the motor and diff cover, ANY THOUGHTS?
I also pulled the radiator and got the e fan mounted as a pusher.

Painted bumper pics.
Self etching primer.
Duplicolor Bed Armor.
Tomorrow I will get it installed and start permanently mounting the winch.

|daddyjeep||Thanks, I wish we were already in the new house. I'm still working on my 16 x 20 garage. Had to bring the bumper in the house to paint cause there is no heat in the garage. Hopefully by the time we get home the smell will be gone.|

|Wombat Ranger||Lookin' sweet. That shop is sexy too. Keep up the great work!|
|01-25-2014 09:41 AM|
|samizdad||Nice workshop...bigger than my house. LOL|
|01-25-2014 12:23 AM|
|daddyjeep||Got all my holes drilled and attacked the bumper with the flap disks. Hopefully tomorrow I can find the time to get some paint on it.|
|01-23-2014 08:58 PM|
Got all the welding done on the bumper tonight. I just need to drill a few holes to mount it and get some paint on it.
Inside view of the D-ring mount welded. The welds look pretty good I think. I just couldn't clean them up very good with the wire brush for the pic. Damn flux core wire is messy.
Back to the radiator... I am thinking I am just going to leave the shroud alone and mount the fan as a pusher. I won't have to worry about clearance that way.
|01-22-2014 08:54 PM|
Did a little more welding on the front bumper tonight. Got the shackle mounts welded in at least from the outside. One corner is welded and ground smooth. I probably have 2 or 3 more hours of welding and grinding to finish this thing up.
I tried installing the E fan and shroud tonight and ran in to a problem. The shroud does not fit around the fan. I ordered this from Leadfott Racing (Champion) as a set so I would assume everything would work together. Looks like I will be giving them a call tomorrow.
