|crawlin_archer||No it will not cut it off if you use the parking light to send the turn on signal to the relay. Thats one way to HID lights w/o a can bus harness is using the parking lights as the turn on signal to the relay. But if your using a seperate switch to turn on the lights just run a power wire from the battery & eliminate tapping the parking lights. But you are safe to use the parkign light circuit only for a signal to to relay thru switch. Don't try to power the lights off that circuit. But your parking lights aren't pulse width modulated like the headlamps are. The headlamps are done that way because it's supposed to make the bulbs last longer. And headlights cost more then trubn signals so thats why the headlamps are PWM & the parking lights aren't.|

What kind of lights are you trying to hook up?
When I had my 08 JK I had windshield mounted KC slim lites and they worked no problem for a long time.

Lights and CANBUS?
Is it absolutely necessary to get an sPod in order to hook up lights to the JK? I've read that the CANBUS will detect excess voltage and/or drop and shut off the circuit. If I tap into the parking light to send power to the switch to my PIAA 510's will the CANBUS detect it and shut off my lights? I really hate all the new computerized crap in new cars and this is one primary reason. Electronics have no business in a Jeep Wrangler! Thanks for the input.
