MI JeepSkate its silver, and yes i live in the rust belt. i thought it would be from the plows or the lakes around me, lots of lake effect snow and lots of rust deposits in the water by me

warbird24 As a side note here....

Some of these SPECKS are from road contamination in the rust belt states. My daily drive is exposed all year round outside. It's white and has painted plastic white bumpers on it. On the rear bumper I see LOTS of these rust specks. From what I can tell, it is from dust dirt and road debris kicked up onto the paint. Some of this I am sure is from the scraper bars on plows that get ground down.

Most times a Clay bar will get this off in no time. These clay bars were developed a long time ago to get Train Shipping contamination off of new cars. Same type of contamination as you are seeing.

I do a complete clay bar treatment on my vehicles at least twice a year, followed by a complete wax and seal.

MI JeepSkate Yea it's a 10, I know it's not deep, just a lot of it and like I said it comes right off. Just don't have the time to sit there with a rag and water, was hoping rubbing alcohol or kerosine, something along that line. Can I get that bar from oreiley or auto zone?

jkjeeper06 New jeep? It may be contaminates on the paint and not actually the body rusting. If this is the case any clay bar kit will take it off

Surface rust on doors

I've got surface rust on my doors, with a little elbow grease it comes right off but it's a bitch to do with just water and a rag. Anyone had this happen or know of something better to wash this stuff off with? It's just little specs, but its all over the place. Thanks guys
