yes, it is one home improvement I have no regret about whatsoever. It paid for itself in less than two years and it's a really nice warm heat. Plus I get to play with fire

Gotcha. Mine is an insert into our existing fireplace. Looks nice and there's no drafts or smell like the actual fireplace

New England is funny. Put a wood stove in the living room and it's ambience, even if it's what you use for heat. Put it in the basement exclusively for heat and it's a fire hazard.

JGreen06TJ I turned my heat on a few weeks ago. We've already had a couple nights in the 30's. I am trying to keep my thermostat down this year. Electric heat can get expensive.

SouthernBelle0621 Yeah it is. My house is only around 1400 square feet, and it definitely heats the living area well, I just shut off the front room since we don't use it anyway. It knocks the chill off anyway without me having to turn on the central heat.
