JKU SRQ Have you checked the automatic transmission fluid level? It could be low and sucking air, especially at low engine RPMs. If it is low then check for leaks or seepage.

Torque or converter

I'm having transmission issues with my 2004 Jeep Wrangler. Periodically when i'm stopped at a red light and get a green light, i step on the gas and nothing happens, then eventually the Jeep goes into gear and takes off. At other times I could be driving along and all of the sudden the rpm's jump up but the Jeep does nothing, sort of jumps out of gear. Does this sound more like a torque converter issue or a transmission issue? Thanks
