No, just a rubber boot. At the top end there is a lock of some kind, but it doesn't appear to have anything to do with the telescoping sections.

91 YJ Power Steering Steering Column Shaft Install

I just got a Crown Automotive replacement shaft for my YJ. It looks like the correct shaft, but I can't telescope it. Do I have to use a "BFH" on it to start?
