How Long I assume the problem is with the head unit. I've been in other vehicles with Sirius and the sound is fine. I have noticed that the tinny sound also happens when listening to music via bluetooth. When I plug my iphone in thru the usb port it sounds fine but when I use the bluetooth is sounds like sh** Must be something with the wireless receiver in the head unit.

TOK I can't listen to regular radio after having Sirius and the thing that sucks about an iPod is that there is no variety/surprise. Its all music you put there.

I have one Sirius/XM radio account and a separate tuner. I just have cradles wired into the receivers and move the Sirius tuner to whatever I'm driving (listen to it 90% in work truck). My work truck is noisy, my Jeep is noisy, if I can just hear Opie & Anthony, Boneyard and Liquid Metal, I'm happy. I originally subscribed for Stern, but can't stand him anymore.

CarolinaCajun I drove a Ford rental car all week and the good news is... Sirius sounds just as bad, if not worse, in the Ford than it does in my JK. Glad it's not a Jeep stereo thing.

Except in my opinion, am actually sounds better. That or I'm just used to it and its mono broadcast

reade I quit Sirius XM a long time ago. It's "free" Pandora for me now. I did the $3.00 a month Pandora but when renew time came around I went back to the free version, a commercial here and there is ok with me and with the shape my ears are in I can't hear the difference at 65 mph.

Thank you. I am a basic vehicle owner. If I wanted fancy music, I'd buy a Beemer.

I wasn't impressed with it at all and had already decided I wasn't going to keep it. Well my subscription ran out in march and was supposed to have until June. Well it kinda pissed me off even though I rarely listened to it and only for CNN (which I could plug the phone in for). I finally after two weeks of it irritating me I called Sirius. Apparently the dealer activated it for people to hear because my jeep was on the inside show room. So they just activate free year all over again. Still don't listen to it because it sounds like sh1t.

Binx There is no better way to get a higher quality of sound when its all 16 - 48kbps, channel dependent. Most are around 32kbps. Sad but true.

ONETANGO I actually think mine sounds fairly decent....

Drop outs.... all the time. Bad sound quality..... all the time. Boring programming..... all the time. I shut it off and spend $35.00 a year on Pandora, (paying gets rid of commercials). I build my own stations and listen to what I want to. I stream via bluetooth in the Jeep, in the motorhome, through my BOSE Sound link and even through my HDTV if I want.
Sirius is a serious waste of money
I pay for Spotify, which is great, but I have a Verizon phone and therefore have a data limit. If I'm not careful, I'll easily go over my limit for the month about 2.5 weeks into it just from streaming music. I need to figure out a way to get rid of this stupid limit. Never had one til I got a new number in 2011.

st1264 Like I said before, some don't know what "good sound" is. They are happy with a transistor radio, so Sirius sounds like heaven to them.

You'd think we'd have a better stereo system and headlights (some are happy with the headlights too) for a $30k Jeep... but Sirius just sounds bad (compressed), so I don't listen to it.

Biz21 I Agree. The sound quality is bad.

sr71 Just picked up new Sport and turned Sirius on for first time - I wasn't expecting much and it didn't deliver.

Unless they were ripped horribly, the MP3s. Even bad mp3s are ~2x the quality.

Maybe a Sirius receiver? Love my Octane and Lithium but it sounds SO bad!?!?!
It's the Pearl Jam and Linkin Park.

Pearl Jam has their own channel and it's still every third song on lithium :/

Rude Robert Lol I still think it sounds okay.

JeffC They wanted my credit card "to ensure no gap in service" = "at the end of 6 months we will charge your credit card $120.00 for a one renewal"

No way XM!! I'll pay the $2.00 and send you a $30.00 check every 6 months

That's what the garbage or recycling box is for...

$30 total for 6 months or $30/month? Still, I won't renew as I don't like the sound quality or the content.

I counted, I have 17 FM channels I like... for free. Then there's MP3's, discs, etc.
I agree it can get repetitive but I'm in sales and in car all day. I luv Sat radio for the variety. I listen to sport talk a lot but luv the fact I can listen to whole Pearl Jam concerts at various time during the day or have my fav artist pop up on the screen and bounce to that chanel. And if your smart you get a good deal from Sirius and its not that expensive.
I always pay around $30 for 6 months.
