EddieBee I do notice that I get better reception on a not painted surface where the ground is better.

EddieBee It is and I'm picking up activity but when it try to do a radio check no one responds? I'm not sure if I have to or if I can to adjust the SWR? I don't want to fry the CB.

sparky If it's listed as a CB antenna, then it will work. Unfortunatly mag-mounts like a bit of flat steel under and around them. You will have to place it on your hood.

Midland 1001Z with a Radio Shack 27" Whip 21-802?

I'd like to get some inputs on my set up. I recently installed a Midland 1001Z with a Radio Shack 27" Whip 21-802. I mainly bought it for trail use because most clubs require you to have one. Is it ok to use a 27" whip with this CB?
