viperx6x9x Well it won't let me post a pic today for some reason. But I went with the I rack. If you use the 2 big studs that the jack would slide over, and lay em out horizontal instead the cart sits up on top of those studs nicely. From there, some creative cargo strapping, and it isn't moving till I want it to.

I will post pics when the forum is acting right again.

viperx6x9x Cool, I might need that anyway. But so far I am liking the I Rack idea the best.

Also just for price comparison, how much is the least expensive safari rack that you guys can think of? By least expensive, I don't mean cheaply built, i mean reasonably priced good product. Just an estimate of how much I would expect to spend? If I go this route, I can just lay it on top and strap it down.

Some Farkin Guy It mounts to the frame on both sides. I would trust it more than a bumper mounted one unless the bumper also had frame tie ins. I took it off because I don't tow anything and I figured it was just extra weight for me.

I will keep that in mind, where would it mount though? I looked underneath briefly, and it doesn't look like there is much room to attach anything. Maybe a new bumper with a built in hitch would be a stronger option to go with?

I am not planning to stack a bunch of weight on it if I do get one of those hitch baskets, maybe camping stuff and a cooler at most. Just for this purpose though, the cart by itself hardly weighs anything.

viperx6x9x something like this would give me a base to work with, but I need to figure out how to mount it to that plate.

I need to go out when its not raining and sit it up there. But eyeballing it, it looks like it will need to center somewhere between that shelf right above the axle, and the crossbar above that.

Need mounting Ideas

If anybody has ideas I need some help. I have a cart, basically a modified OA tank welding cart, that I need to mount to the back of the jeep somehow. Pics are attached.

Basically the only way to put it inside is to roll the passenger seat all the way into the dash, remove the rear seat, and stuff the cart in at an angle. This works, but I can't take a passenger.

I had considered one of those baskets that attach to a receiver hitch, but I can't afford to put a hitch on right now.

I was thinking the tire can maybe ride inside temporarily, and mount the cart to the tire carrier somehow but need some ideas how to go about it. Pay no attention to all the stuff on the cart, all that can ride inside. I just need to mount the cart itself to the tire carrier somehow.

If there is anybody in the hampton roads VA area that may be able to help that would be awesome. I was thinking of welding some kind of bracket to the cart that will line up with the lugs on the tire carrier so I can just bolt it on with the lug nuts, but I am no good with welding. Maybe even just bolting on a bracket, but I figured welds would hold up to the vibrations of the road better.
