NW Rubicon If I keep it @ 70 or less, I can get to 20 mpg. At 75 it drops to 18. This is on the flats with little wind.

2013 10a stock with 3.73.

xzy I was getting a hair under 25mpg highway @ 55 with my 13' 6 speed and stock tires at 55psi ( I think they were if I can remember ) With my 285's at 30psi I'm averaging 21-22 mixed driving and 23.5 on the highway @ 55. That's not using the computer.

Better mileage than I thought I would get, but I rarely go over 55. I actually enjoy driving slow, but a few times I bumped it to 60 in Michigan

sweetwillyswrangler getting 20 around town. 23 on highway. 2014 JKU auto 3.21 255/75/17 goodyear. only have 1400 miles on the clock. interested to see if it stays this way. so far iam surprised by the mpg.

NHflannelman12JK76CJ5 2012 3.6 auto now with 40,xxx JK 2door w/ 3/21's. 265 on 18's. Summer's I usually average 23.2 and winters around 20. I do a ton of highway travel in New England, NJ, NY, PA and occasionally OH. City traffic kills me. My average speed (combined) is 47.5. The highest I've seen was on I-90 going from Albany to Buffalo - cruise on 61 and I hit 24.3 for a long while.

Fantastical I have about 1500 miles on my 2013 JK. In stop-and-go traffic to work (30 miles R/T) I average about 19.5. 300 mile round trip last weekend to the WV mountains (no off-road, just about 20 miles of gravel) and 75mph on the freeway in VA I got 20.2 calculated at fill-up. Trip computer said 21.2 so it wasn't too far off.

futurshox 2013 JKU with manual shift here. Mostly single lane rural roads and freeways with some town driving. I see a pretty consistent 21-22mpg.
09-05-2013 05:50 PM
seattlepete I got 21.2 on my last road trip down to Oregon from Seattle...I was happy.

jeepwrangler2011 Yeah the owners manual for my Jeep says to stick with lower octane gas the higher octane is not needed With that said in all my vehicles I have ran lowest octane gas. Usually 87 but the problem around my area is you can't find hardly any places that don't have non-ethanol gas. So really not much choice in what to put in the Jeep, if its low grade so be it. And having proper tire pressure does make the single biggest difference to get you those few extra mpgs. Some one I work with has a Prius C and he he has had it just about 2 years and he averages around 48mpg on the highway and he lives an hour n half away from work so that's pretty impressive.

Ethanol sucks
I have not done a comparison of ethanol fuel versus non-ethanol in the Jeep yet. However, I can say that I drove a Prius for six years, including multiple cross-country trips, and that thing is a veritable laboratory/petrie-dish for mileage, i.e., whatever works or doesn't work in a Prius applies to other more "normal" gas vehicles, it's just magnified in the Prius, things like tire-pressure, racks (affecting aerodynamics), temperature, head-winds versus tail-winds, etc. I had read on the Prius forums that non-ethanol gas would give 10% better mileage, much like you report with your Jeep, but my experience did not bear it out. I found I got identical or nearly identical mileage with any 85.5 or 87 octane fuel, ethanol or not. Other conditions mattered far more. I eventually decided to just use whatever I could get for the least money and not worry about it. I am sure this goes against conventional wisdom, and I'll definitely test it out in the JKUR one of these days, but that was my experience based on about 50K miles of driving a hybrid which was very sensitive to changes in conditions.

That' sucks your mileage dropped back down. I use shell (87) with 10% ethanol. Guess mine loves the corn. Lol. The one trip I did make in it down to Destin, Fl I hit 25mpg and that was with some Chevron gas. But I've got 40 k miles on it and I'm pretty sure it's broke in by now. But I think anyone getting 20mpg to 24 mpg is pretty good.

hockeycrew Only 400 miles on my 2014 JKU Sahara with 3.21 and stock tires and got 21.5 on a 3 hour mostly highway trip to New Hampshire. Not bad for the first trip. Been cruising around town and still average about 19.
09-04-2013 06:54 PM
ChargerPilot Stock 10A in town just calculated it...13.9MPG
09-04-2013 05:22 PM
jeepwrangler2011 2011 wrangler sport. 24 mpg on the highway no modifications all stock.
09-04-2013 05:17 PM
texanstetson
22mpg

2012 Unlimited mostly stock. 22,000 miles. Getting 22 on the highway, average is around 20.5

Gunner When I got my 13 JKUR. 3.73's auto. It got amazing 19 to 20 mpg on the freeway. Then I found the TPMS button and found my tires at 47 psi. I checked them and sure enough 47. I dropped the pressure to 35. Way better ride instant drop to 17 mpg.
09-04-2013 09:08 AM
Dillon152 New 2014 owner. 3.73, 6 speed, 2dr sport. With 16" steelies
I got 1200 miles on it now and no matter where I'm driving I barely get 18mpg.
I've even reset the evic before getting on the highway, driving at 65mpg, I barely get 18mpg! Driving arounf town? still 18mpg! All 4 tires came in inflated at 39psi. I don't drive it hard at all either.
Seems like I should be doing at least a little better on the highway.

This is consistent with my results in a 13 JKUR 6-speed with 4:10 & stock wheels/tires. If I keep it around 60-65 I can get 21 mpg or a hair better. If I wick it up to 75, mileage drops to 18-19.

John P Getting 21 to 22 with a JKUS with 3.21 gears....mostly mixed driving. Traided a 2010 vw Tiguan which got 24 to 25...not bad!
08-27-2013 01:19 PM
szekler 2013 2DR with AEV front and rear bumper getting in between 20 at max and 14 min depending on my driving like an old lady or Michael Schumacher. Anything over 70 just eats away at the mpg.
08-27-2013 12:54 PM
marslim With the stock sra's I averaged 21mpg with 3.73 and now with 33"x12.5 I'm down to around 19
08-24-2013 08:54 PM
ssteacher95 Sport with stock wheels, 6 spd, and 3.21geers. My average over 3400 miles is 23.1, but I don't do 70 on the interstate, I keep it at 60 and enjoy the ride.
08-24-2013 08:14 PM
ekbergman My average over 10k miles is 20.7, that's pretty much 50/50 city highway. Straight highway I can do much better. On a recent trip to sleeping near dunes national lakeshore I averaged 24-26 over 900 miles. I have a 13 JKU manual 3.21 stock SRAs.
08-24-2013 07:48 PM
Adrian87GN I average 18mpg at best but I beat on it pretty good in town and usually am around 75mph on the hwy. 2013, 3.73's, stick, Rubicon take off's.
