|Rubicondon53||I'm running stock Moab rims 16" and they are great on and off road with 33s. However, if I were to do it all over again I should have switched to 15" rims long ago. With 15"s there is a much greater selection of tire sizes, and 15" rubber costs a lot less than 16"... If money is no object for you than go ahead with 17 or 18".. But that Looks really dumb on anything except street cars, and tires are very very expensive in those sizes..|

|PStov98TJ||18" is still pretty big. Most people opt for a 15" wheel. It gives the correct proportions on a TJ in my opinion. But in the end it's your jeep man! I'll post some pics of mine with 15" wheels on 33's tomorrow if you want to get an idea.|

|chudak||No I'm glad you said that, the reason I suggested that combination was because I found a set of 4 for $1800, but I agree with you, more sidewall. Maybe 18s and 33s?|

No offense intended but most TJ/LJ owners, myself included, would say "stupid" - to much wheel and not enough sidewall. Big wheels are for kids.

New to Jeeps, need help with wheels
Ever since I was little I always wanted a Jeep. I finally bought my first one in October, 2006 Wrangler X, silver. I've just started doing some modifications to it and I'm in desperate need of advice. So far I bought black tubular side steps and blackout headlights and taillights. I have the bumpers picked out (black double tubular with hoop, front and back) and the fender flares (6 inch black pocket style). But I know I need to get the wheels and tires first because it would look stupid without them. I am leaning towards 20" KMC Rockstars (Machined) with 32" tires... thoughts? Would this look cool or stupid? Any other suggestions. I don't have a lift on it yet, so please tell me if you think I will need one. I am really open to any comments or suggestions, like I said I am new to Jeeps but I love mine to death already. Any help appreciated!
