kyjeep I did the heat gun trick. It was difficult to get the color uniform but mine aren't black to start with. It lasted about a year and some spots got lighter than others. It kind of looked like camo. This past weekend while wrapping up some other projects I masked them off and painted them and it looks %100 better. In my opinion take the time and paint them and you'll never have to mess with them again.

Jerry Bransford Use a heat gun on its low setting, it will turn them black again. No it won't damage the paint & there is no need to do any masking.

Before & after. It doesn't last forever but depending on how much sun the fenders see, it will last six months to several years.

Water Dog Bedliner, Krylon Fusion, heat gun, or replace them.

Any suggestions on how to treat my chalked fender flares?
