if the rocky road one is good and close to stock, I might do that one instead. anyway its between the 2. I've heard the RE shocks are a little stiff, but I've heard rocky road has trouble getting things to people.

i have that lift on my tj. originally i went w/ the shock extentsions b/c my shocks were new. but once i wore those shocks out i took the extensions off and went with longer shocks. i really like that bb. it rides like stock, i can fit 31's (32's w/ minor rubbing), and it was easy to install.

What you need: BB with shocks. A front trackbar is optional- I would put the lift in, get it all aligned, and see how far your axles shift- if it's more than 1/2", I would recommend a track bar or bracket to re-align it- Mark W.

jeeP☻ I think I'm too cheap for emu.
I like the idea of a little lift and then a small bodylift after I use up the 31's. I want to progress gradually, if that makes sense.

that should be all I need. right? I don't need to order anything along with it?

rkwfxd Ive already got 31's. I am going to go with a 1.25" BL next and then a tummy tuck skid plate. If I decide I want to go higher I will look at the OME 2" lift or maybe the RC 2.5" lift. That would give me plenty of room for 33s. If I ever want to go bigger than that I will do it with highline fenders.

daanbc I'm el-cheapo, LOL. I don't do any off-roading here in florida. At least not yet. I did a 2"body lift, installed it myself in about 3-hours max. I then bought 31's from the local wal-mart at $75.00 a piece. The lift and tires ran me $ 426.31 Here's some before n after pic's

chiro2736 If I could do it over I would have gone with the old man emu 2 inch lift or something of the sorts. And later if you want to go bigger go with highline fenders and bigger tires. keep that center of gravity low!

4point A BB sounds like the best bet. The body lift is OK but you really don't want to exceed an 1 1/4" with that. It just doesn't look (aesthetics) good. A suspension lift is always the best way to lift your jeep. You could also combine a BB and a small BL and net a good 3" of lift.

jeeP☻ I didn't think the trackbar was required, but I've heard it, along with re-alignment, fixes death wobble -then why not go ahead and strengthen that area so I don't have to worry about it? (thats kinda what was going thru my head)

I don't neccesairily want to go the easy way on this, I want to do it right. That dosent mean I want to do it the hard way, but I don't mind doing a little extra work to get better results.

I think 2" lift is good for what I want, but I don't know which lift/etc would be the most practical, well-built set up for the least money. suspension or body, any recomendations are appreciated. I'm leaning towards suspension, but if body is the way for me..thats cool too.

I want to purchase everything at the same time which is why I'm trying to group this all into one package or something. Sorry I'm not very mechanicly educated.

thaduke2003 Sounds like it's time to do a little research, amigo.
A front track bar is not REQUIRED, but I'd recommend one for anything over 2"

BB is budget boost- usually refers to a spacer SUSPENSION lift. A body lift is usually body mount spacers.

The EASIEST way to add heigh is a body lift- no need to re-align afterwards, and it's pretty darn easy to install. I think, if you want to keep it simple, that this is the route for you, man Mark W.

OK, I've been reading alot of stuff lately and I think I've confused myself :/
The link I posted..its a body lift? I saw some spacer things on ebay which look really simple, And I see alot of people say bb but I'm not sure exactly what that is..budget boost? or is it a type of spacer?

I want to keep it feeling close to stock, it seems most people say get bb and OME shocks? I'm trying to get this right the first time and I dont want to spend too much either. This is going to be a dd, so I dont want to spend alot on some fancy suspensions and such.

Sorry for alot of questions, I just don't want to buy something then wish I got something else.

thaduke2003 I would usually recommend new shocks- replace your worn out old shocks, and improve handling on/off-road. Just make sure you get shocks that will fit with the size lift you go with!
Lift installation starts around 3-5 hours for springs/shocks. A track bar adds maybe half an hour max. When you get into adjustable arms and such is when the time and PITA factor start to climb.
Budget boosts are a decent way to get a few extra inches. One note is that they WILL increase spring wear and sag (how much depends on the amount of spacer used, and driving type). However, if used mostly on-road, you won't see too much sag, if any. Just get a good set of shocks, and budget for a GOOD alignment after the lift, and you're on your way Mark W.

Small Lift suggestions?

Hey nice to meet you.

I'm thinking 2-3 inch lift with some..ehh 31's? I;m not sure what tire size I want, nothing too big.

anyway my question is does anybody have pics of a jeep with no more than 3 inches of lift? I'm trying to figure out exactly what i want, and I want to see how it looks.

I've looked at the lift review thread in the tj section, and I belive there were maybe 2 around that area..but the pictures were down. Also, I searched "lift" and such but you can probably imagine how many results there were.
