|ohioviper||TF 2.5 spring lift on 33s and it looks great. Some day down the road 35s but for now I am happy happy happy with the way it looks on 33s.|

|BigManAndy||I went with the TF, didn't know RR had one. I mean it's only two pieces of steel with a slight taper and hardware. I do know the TF ones rusted pretty bad with just one winter under their belt. Looking at just the pics the RR ones seem far more tapered and could restrict flow. But I'm no expert. No problems with the brake lines, the rear used the supplied relocation bracket.|

I called TF (again) and it appears the kit has all of the adapters/brackets I need for the install, with the exception of the exhaust spacer.
Does it matter which brand spacer I use? TF's is $50, while RR has one for half that.

|JTPhoto JK||It has been my experience that installing a lift kit then running with current tires for 2 weeks minimum, will allow you to better determine any potential issues that may arise. This will Ensure that the lift runs and rides good and it is not the new wheels and tires that are causing issues.|

Ah, thanks for the reminder Andy. I talked to TF last week and I now recall them saying I'd need the exhaust spacer.
Yeah, hind sight is 20/20 and all that. I wish I had gone straight to 35s as well. Lesson learned. Heck, I paid extra on my Jeep to get the bigger factory tires thinking I'd be happy with them......put the 33s on about 1 month after I bought it. LOL
Did you need to do anything w/ the brake lines? I'm thinking you have to relocate the brake line brackets? Can't remember for sure.
Another dumb question regarding the bumpstops that come w/ the kit.....did you just pop them in in place of the factory bumpstops? Just planning out the install in my head.

If I knew ahead of time, yes I would have waited and lifted and went right to 35's. I just didn't have the funds to do both so it was one or the other. I lifted it sooner then I originally intended. I planned on staying with 33s and stock suspension for a while. But now that I'm adding bumpers I'm glad I have the room to accommodate any sag. Plus whenever I wheeled with the stock suspension I was dragging my under carriage A LOT, that 2.5" made a world of difference in that aspect.
I see you have a 2012, when I lifted it I checked before I installed the exhaust spacers and at full droop the driveshaft was resting right on top of the exhaust crossover so the spacer was 100% needed.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Whether or not 33s and the 2.5 looks "goofy" really comes down to personal preference. Looking at your pics, I have to agree that it looks just fine.
Was just polling the forum for feedback. If I got 50/50 responses saying "NOOOOO" then I would have waited. LOL
Guess I'll order my lift and shocks this weekend. As I said, if I don't like it, I can always remove it wait for til I get the 35s.
Another reason I'm in a rush to get the new lift on is that my front is beginning to sag some. I'm running both sets of spacers up front, and while intially they took away the rake, the factory coils have drooped some in the last year and I'm liking it.

2.5" TF kit and 33x12.5R15s.

I went through the same build process as you. I started out with the TF 1.5 performance lift with OME shocks and 33s. I thought it was a good setup for where I was when I first bought the jeep.
I ended up wheeling more and decided to go all in with 35s and 2.5" lift.
Here's my rig with the 2.5 TF with bilstein 5100s and 33s
I went up to 35s shortly after. With the 35s, I ended up getting C Gussets, regeared to 4.56, got a TF hinge and adjustable tire carrier, BW fenders. I opened it a big can of worms with the 35s, but I'm glad I did it and I have no regrets.
Honestly, 33s and 2.5" is an awesome combo. Depending on your rig and wheeling it's a great setup.
Go at your own pace and what you can afford. It's not a race, but, do what will make sense and make you happy

I had rubbing issues as well w/ the 33s and leveling kit, hence the flatties.
My 33s have some life left so I'm stuck w/ them for a bit so trying to install when I can now, to same time down the road.
Did you find that you need to change anything after installing the 2.5?

I run the TF 2.5" coils with Bilstein 5100 shocks and 33/12.5x15 Duratracs.
It might be a tad too much lift for just 33's, but I know 35's are going on when these wear out. I was getting some rubbing when disco'd with 33's on stock suspension so I said screw it and lifted it.

TF 2.5 lift w/ 33s
I'm in the process of planning out my next mod, which is ditching my TF leveling kit and 33s, and upgrading to a TF 2.5 lift and 35s. I'm trying to do this in stages so that I don't drop all of my money at once.
I still need to get a new tire carrier before I can get my 35s. While I'm researching bumpers, I was thinking about going ahead and throwing on the lift.
The 2.5 lift adds approx 3" to the front and 2" to the rear. My current leveling kit adds 2" to the front and 1" to the rear. So I'm only looking at about an inch lift at both ends, maybe a little more as I believe the TF coils are built to expect heavier, aftermarket bumpers. Also, I'm currently running Bushwacker flatties so I've already got quite a bit of space in my wheel wells.
My worry is, until I throw 35s on, it might look a bit odd w/ the 2.5 lift and 33s. I know others run this and I also know that this is mostly a personal prefereence as to whether or not you think this looks odd.
I just wanted to start a new thread to help sway me one way or the other. Your thoughts?
I suppose, worst case scenario, I can throw the lift on and if I think it looks funky, I can just remove it and stow it in the garage until I get my 35s.
