ob269 Yeah, with 2.5" lift you'll need nee shocks. But if your replacing, might as well upgrade right?

PStov98TJ For that much lift I'd recommend new shocks too. You'll want the extra travel you'll get even just for driving down trails.

Lift and Rancho shocks

I relativity new to the whole jeep thing. I bought a 2001 sport in December and now that summer is coming I would like to do a few upgrades.

I would like to do a lift to clear bigger tires and give it a better look. I'm not looking to do any off road as it is my daily, but since I do live in Denver I do plan on going into the mountains (dirt roads and such to get to so good fishing spots).

Anyways I noticed that mine came with Rancho shocks from the previous owner. RS5240, RS5128, and stabilizer RS5407. I know that they are intended for 0" lift but was wondering if it was possible to do even a 2.5" lift and still be safe (new coil kits, or even coil spacers), or if I need to buy a whole new suspension kit that included new shocks to do a proper lift.

I was looking specifically at the Rancho sport suspension lifts 2.5" or 3" and was hoping that I wouldn't have to spend the extra for the ones that included new shocks.

Thanks in advance.
