Rubicon Express 3.5” Super-Flex Short Arm lift w/upgrades (RE7003) 04 TJ
1st time jeep owner and it took me (1) year after much research to decide on a lift package and setup. Here are my lessons learned. To save a buck, I decided to go w/RE7003 kit ($920) and not the RE7000-3 kit ($1499 w/SYE & TW CV DS) that my heart told me to go with. Purchased kit from
Once my Kit was installed, I had really bad DL vibration. I still tried to save a buck and ordered Rear Upper Adjustable Control Arms (RE3783 / $240). Once installed, had a hard time getting the rear track bar re-connected. After test drive, still have DL vibration so I ordered SYE and TW CV DS ($466). My advice to a new-by like me is to spend the money to get all the right parts in the beginning and you will save yourself some headaches and garage time.
After installing the SYE and TW CV DS, it drives almost as good as it did from factory. I also realized that the RE kit was the best choice of all kits available on the market. I am getting tons of comments on my setup. Another item worth noting. Do not get discouraged about the super stiff ride day one after lift is installed. My lift seems to loosen up the more I drive it and after a month, the drive is not bad at all. Handles sharp curves on the road really well. MPG has dropped about 3 MPG. Thought I would need to re-gear (stock 3.73’s) but after all tweaks to eliminate the DL vibration, I will keep my stock gears for now.
