The linked thread shows a good example of the spacers not to use - specifically, the Tijuana special. A spacer that literally just puts a hunk of metal between your hub and the wheel but requires use of the stock lugs nuts is just asking for problems because it compromises the lugs and nuts ability to interface properly/thread fully.
If you get spacers, definitely need the sort the integrate lugs for the wheel to mount to and the spacer itself mounts to the hub. A properly designed and mounted spacer won't give you any issues - it is more or less a solid hunk of Aluminum in the shape of a ring - pretty hard to mess that up. Just check the torque on the lugs and focus on mounting properly.

|David DAg||Just had a set of 1.5" rugged ridge put on and love the look. Had 4wheelparts put them on, for right torque and made sure they used lock tight.|

265/17 duratracs with 1.75 spidertrax spacers .. The jeep parked in front of mine the stock view vs the spacer view .. My tires are about 1 inch outside the fender .. The stance and ride are fantastic .. Especially for a 265/17 tire

|TDUFF||I've been running the Spdertrax units and not had any problems. Been to Moab twice - generally easier stuff like Fins n Things. I take it easy on my rig - don't beat the crap out of it since it is my DD. Checked them every tire rotation and they have never been loose. Running stock wheels and tires.|

|lesgoff||Make sure you remove the rotor retainer clips when installing the spacers. The spacer should be installed flush against the rotor.|

We have run 4 sets of the Spydertrax? 1.5" now and they are GREAT!.....
YES there have been HUGH problems with a set here or there. Look them up, there are some killer pictures of how messy it can get, however they were installed 100% WRONG. And they are pretty dam easy to install. You should also be learning what to look for in a spacer.....rear recessed area and so on.

|mike1158||thanks.... i was actually looking at TeraFlex, they make 1.25" spacers. I think thats enough for me...cuz for me its more that I want them, i don't need them to accomodate BIG tires..|

|lesgoff||I ran Spidertrax 1.75" wheel spacers with the stock wheels and never had a problem (mostly highway and some lite trails). I checked the torque every tire rotation and they never moved. If you decide to purchase wheel spacer, spend the extra money and get a quality product like Spidertrax which are hub centric.|

Wheel Spacers: anyone every had any problems?
I have a 2013 Sahara JK... i upgraded the tires to General Grabber AT2s 275/65-18...they are the exactly the same diameter as stock but about 1" wider with much better tread then the stockers..It doesn't sound like much but to me it made a BIG improvement in the look...as far as filling out the wheel wells...
I am considering getting some 1.25" spacers to push the tires out a little wider..by my measurements that would put the sidewalls just out of the flares and the edge of the tread just inside the fenders..
My worry is vibration... I drive my Jeep about 500 miles a week for work.. i am a construction site work manager and i go in the dirt almost every day (for work ) Between sites i run highway, job to job, at about 70 and if i have vibration it will make me NUTS... I spend A LOT of time behind the wheel.
ANy thoughts? Recommendations ?
