I hear ya,
I hate to say it, but I don't even drive my YJ in the winter, NY uses so much salt on the roads that they are white in color even when its not snowing!
Good luck on the restoration.

You non NY jeepers don't know how good you have it
Been fixing up this neglected 01 TJ I found sitting alonside the road for sale a few weeks ago. The worst of the rust is in the rear panel. I am doing most of the dissassembly so the bill at the body shop will be a bit cheaper. Of course I had to drill out all the tailgate hinge bolts. When I drilled the part of the hinge that was on the body, I heard a loud bang when it finally let loose. There was so much corrosion built up between the hinge and the body it actually pushed in the metal between the 2 hinge bolts on the top and bottom. The bottom hinge was actually rotted through. What a project. I need a nice set of white hinges someone.
