Kraut2 I'm selling my Harley Road King to get a Jeep. There's only one problem according to my wife. I've already bought the Jeep (1990 JY) but I haven't sold the bike yet. Now she's going to have a hard time paying for both. Oh well.

McAnally I thought about selling my CBR to get a jeep. Then I walked into the garage, looked at her, and realized I can't do it. lol I'm just going to keep saving and hope I get promoted so I can get one sooner than later.

Good luck with the sale of your bike though!

sinbob welcome to the addiction

JEEP = just empty every pocket

What you do to it will depend on what you are going to use it for.

I got my wifey addicted to fishing.....so I get to go rock crawling to get to the high lakes here.

I would suggest getting a Rubicon....after market they are not mush more and sometimes cheaper than the regular jeeps. But, you get so much more with the Rubi........4.0 rocktrac gear driven vs chain driven xfer case, Dana 44 axels, lockers.
TJ's 99 - 06 get the 4.0 I6cyl these engines are almost bomb proof and have great low end tourqe. Stay away from the 4cyl.
JK's 07 - 11 these have the v6 3.8 minivan motor in them, very low in power
JK's 12 - these have the 3.6 pentstar motor.....lots of power!!!!! these also come in a 4 door

Selling motorcycle to buy a jeep

Hey all,

After years of riding motorcycles and countless close calls I've decided it's time for a new toy. I'm looking at a mid level purchase of a two door. I'm going to buy new once my bike sells(just posted it yesterday) but I'm the type to start with mods right away. I'm thinking alarm, wheels and tires, small suspension lift maybe 3-4 inches. Should i upgrade brakes and rotors? It's not a daily driver and I'm going for the aggressive look and some mild off road riding. Years ago I was in to showing cars and I've had some pretty radical set ups. This jeep will be subtle but it will look sharp. I've had a lifted truck but its been so long I'm out of the loop on things and have forgotten a lot. I gave cars up for motorcycles and serious speed so I need my hand held through this somewhat. As far as audio goes I got that covered. I will be doing a nice set up myself just need to tear it apart and see what I can do. I will go custom audio. Just hoping I can get ideas here and eventually go to jeep meets when it's ready. I'm looking forward to chatting with everyone on here soon.
