wmdavis007 The main difference is the header flows the exhaust easier. Each runner has it's own pipe...this helps the exhaust flow better, less restrictive.

MGHDTi So I'm going through the same thing, have a brand new exhaust manifold sitting right behind me, going to install this weekend. This is probably noobish, but what is the the difference between a header and a manifold? The link you offered up above looks pretty similar to what I have, but I ordered a manifold...

wmdavis007 What motor do you have? I believe the 4.0L stock manifolds have a tendency to crack...mine did. I had mine welded up to get me by until I can afford a set of headers, new catalytic converter and exhaust. I'm planning on getting an affordable set of headers just like your looking for but I haven't asked anyone here on the forum yet until I got closer to actually buying them. Here is what I'm leaning toward: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rg...model/wrangler
I don't know how good these are but they are just a little more then a replacement stock manifold. I can't afford a set of Bank's or JBA's. Plus my Jeep doesn't see hardcore offroading...only dirtroad cruising, which my wife loves.
As for the cat, I'm looking at this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mpe-23227/overview/year/1997/make/jeep/model/wrangler
And this for exhaust: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/su...model/wrangler

MySahara I have an exhaust leak of some form. Two different mechanics said it is probably the exhaust manifold. I would like to replace it with a header. I am on a budget. So, best header for around $200? Or should I go with an exhaust manifold and replace the muffler with something that sounds a little better.
