You need adjustable lowers at least in the rear to dial the pinion and center the tire in the wheel well. I actually needed my lowers short so my tire wouldn't rub the back of the plastic flare, and so I could have enough thread engagement on my uppers.
If you use just the uppers to adjust pinion then you likely won't have enough thread engagement with that high of a pinion angle. You need to use the lowers as well.

clarification on doing a tummy tuck
So before I tackle this job I just want know if I have all the parts needed to successfully raise the transfer case. I've got a 03 sport with a 4inch suspension lift, 1.25 BL and 1"ML lift.
Jp Conversions SYE.
Having CV shaft made locally.
Savvy (JJ) rear upper control arms
Track bar relocation bracket
Skid plate being fabricated locally
Also anyone know how long I can expect the project to take? Assuming I was blind with no arms.. I'm no mechanic but I enjoy tackling my jeep projects on my own.
Any extra advice or helpful hints to doing this is greatly appreciated
