Yeah i almost would rather just do a tube build but i dont know of anyone anywhere near me that does this .. Im in clermont , florida about 20 miles west of orlando..
I basically just want the jeep for the body.. As i will also be taking the seats out and most of the interior as well ..
I know its pretty easy to get a home build registered here as my neighbor just finished a cobra build..
So i wouldnt mind building a 4 passenger jeep based buggy..

Just finished helping on a motor swap a few weeks ago using a junkyard 6.0, Mast motorsports cam, springs, pushrods, harness and tune, slightly built 4l60e with manual valve body and we made the headers our selfs. Whole build came in at 9 grand after having driveshafts, Tcase rebuilt and a few other odds and ends. Accord to Mast the motor is pushing a hair over 500hp.

Those axles should be alright w/ 40s but the more power you throw in the mix the less adequate they become.
You're basically building/replacing everything at that point besides frame and body, and I honestly don't know how the frame does with that much power/tires. You might want to look into stretching wheelbase as well if you are going to all this trouble.
Pirate4x4 would have more the kind of stuff you want to rear. Start here: Ultimate Wrangler Build Ups and Swaps thread - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

|GoldenSahara00||Dana 60s are wider than stock (full width). Go 14 bolt rear hp60 front or something similar, throw about 2.5- 3 inches of lift on, build everything else that needs build to run those tires including steering etc, then pay up for it. You can probably hack the fenders and body up some if you need any more room to fit them.|

I wouldnt mind doing a lift i just dont want a 7 inch lift..
How high would i have to go?
And im assuiming i can just order dana 60's wider than stock?

Sure you could buy a set of full width axles if you wanted to. Or just get rims that are backspaced to get you out there where you need to be. Of course you are going to give up a good % of your turning radius if you ran 40's with no lift.
Not exactly the most practical thing to do.

Wider wheel base
i searched on the forum but didnt see it
i was wondering would it be possible to buy longer axles and widen the wheelbase instead of lifting it to put 40's on .. without fenders of course..
i dont mid lifting it but im in florida and i just use it for sand / mud , not rock crawling or going over anything .. so i would rather have it low and wide than tall.. thanks
