Walkingstick I am dealing with the same thing. Except Im cutting em off and then doing some weld work to hold the skidplate up.

jeepsrgreat Prying did not help. A Facebook friend told me how he has done it and it worked well for removal. A chisel pounded between the frame and skid. Now to follow your link for replacement.

wwch99tj Yes the nutserts are notorious for spinning...
You'll either have to cot them or try to pry the skid while loosening the bolt.

Help with tranfer case skid plate please

I am trying to remove my tansfer case skid plate and two of the six bolts just spin. it is like the nut inside the frame has broke loose.

Any ideas?
