MHauss Know it's an older thread but GREAT information. Just got my soft top in today and already planning on running top down (please chicago). I'd like to keep rear seats in atm, so this is awesome.

Thanks!

Luck881 I layer mine in a folded wool army blanket, roll the whole thing together and slip into 2 of those bags that folding camp chairs come in and put the roll behind my 2 front seats. It also fits on the rear fenders as long as the soft top is up in safari mode.

For the first 2 years anyway, now I leave the blanket out normally.

As for cost: almost 18 years of my life so far for the blanket and about 10 bucks for the bags, but it came with 2 free chairs... you could do it cheaper and not join the army and use one of your wifes sheets instead. Wait, maybe that's more expensive, I don't know...

jp2611 Here are some pics.....basically picture several rectangular pieces of felt with a heavier back sen across the middle holding all the pieces together like a book with a "Binding" in the center.

picture the book folded in half with a zipper on the outside.....any questions feel free to ask....will post more if needed.

commodore_dude I have the Clover Patch bag, it works great but you could certainly get away with some nice soft towels instead...

Wirenuting I hang mine from cloths hangers. The ones with the clips for pants.

Rpkittle I really like the idea of your home made setup. Any chances you have pictures? I'd like to make one myself

jp2611 yeah there are cheap ones...but if you don't mind a little work you can buy the materials at Wally world or wherever and have a tailer sew one up for about $70...I did that for my '04 back in '04 and total cost including sewing was only $50...but that was almost 10 years ago (damn gettin' old) but we did one last year for wife's JK for $70.

Advantages 1) No shipping...not a big deal okay
2) You pic the color...not that big of a deal really, but my wife had to have Sky Blue for the inside of hers, and the one for the TJ is gray interior
3) You can pic a stronger canvas type of material for the outside shell.
4) You can make it "oversize" if you want or with extra flaps...the one I have for the TJ will hold all 5 WINDOWS (door uppers as well)
5) With a page between each window very little chance of windows getting scratched.
6) Allows you to always have your windows with you but they will still store behind backseat and between tailgate
7) Bag can double as a seat cushion for Baseball games or fireworks
8) Has been used as a blanket for "spur of the moments in the parks"
9) Helps your local seamstress or tailor expand their horizons
10) For the price of new windows anything under $100 that last at least ten years is a bargain!!!

Bonus...the one from the TJ that was made for OEM top is now being used for a Frameless NX.

Jeep Soft Top Window Storage Bag

Just curious what most people use for this to protect their windows & if there is a cheap solution or (zipper) bag someone has found. I see some out there for around $60-$75.
