Sorry bubba. I will ALWAYS have an auto in mine. No need for that silly third pedal.

Funny thing is that I have another neutral safety switch I could throw in there, but I kind of like being the only one who knows how to start my jeep.

1BLKJP Yeah, I have the same thing with mine at times. I just look at it as an anti-theft deterrant. I just pop it down into neutral and it starts right up. It's called a neutral safety switch and it's on your transmission.

safety interlock neutral start switch going bad

has anyone experienced problems with the switch that controls starting the engine in gear? im not sure what the switch is called or where it is located so im guessing that its in the column. my 97 jeep wont start at times and i can hear the switch clicking, so im thinking that its the switch not working like it should? to get it to start i have to continue to move the shift into park and neutral and out of park and neutral and keep flipping the ignition switch until it finally works. im sure that its going to totally go out sooner or later so i need to change it but i would like some info as to where it may be and how to get to it and so on.
any info is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance
