TJDave I ran 33x12.5x15 Toyo MT's for many years on my TJ. I bought them because of Les Schwabbies warranty and free lifetime balancing. Glad I did because I was always having them rebalanced. More due to the cheapo steel wheels I mounted them on...also from Schwabs. Plus they look cool, IMO.

They were a pretty good tire off road. I had to run very low air pressures (4-5psi) in the snow, to get them to squat so I could have traction. I never popped a tire off a bead though.

Like mentioned, they are very heavy. Probably what makes them tough maybe.
I was surprised that my 35" Procomp tires and aluminum rims are much lighter than the 33" Toyos on steelies when I replaced them.

I would say they are an OK tire, but due to their weight, I don't think I would buy them new again. If it is a "smoking deal" as you describe I would. That is how I ended up with the Procomp Xtremes!

Depends on your gears. I have the 33 generals with my factory gears, 3.07 and its not too bad until you need to climb a hill when yer in fifth on the highway. It doesnt bother me too much

krisbman Toyos are one of the heaviest tires on the market besides the Generals. They will sap some power but they are a great tire. Just curious is it the set on CL with 90%?

Toyo MT Question

I just bought my 1st Jeep 98 TJ with the 4.0. It's all stock but going to go with a 4" lift and 33 12.50 15. I found a smoking deal on a set of 5 with wheels and was wondering if you liked them on your Jeeps. Thanks for any input.
