Putzy I was thinking about doing the same on my freedom. Is there any difference driving wise with the changes?

Thank you..clear tint is on the inside so it won't help much (make that at all) with chips however I suppose it would help if I 2x4 was coming at the windshield or if the glass was to shatter but we really have it to cut down on UV and keep the interior cooler and more protected - it essentially blocks as many UV rays as a very dark tint but it is clear

Here in California we are not allowed to have ANYTHING on the front side windows or the windshield (technically even clear)...sooo with light tint on the front sides you are giving the highway patrol reason to pull you over but you'll probably be okay (for me 2x in 20 years for tint) but anything on the front windshield and you are pretty much guaranteed to get hassled thus the clear (can't really be spotted)

I think its funny how different tastes can be. When I had new tires put on my Freedom edition, I double and triple checked with Discount Tire to make sure they were mounting my tires with the white lettering out.

Clear tint on the front windshield? That sounds cool... So it should stop rock chips? What about hurting/helping glare? I've never heard of this.

Since you removed your "Unlimited" lettering, you should have pixeldecals make you a new "Unlimited" badge but with red outline. Oh man I just planted an idea didn't I.

Our new JKU Freedom with a couple minor mods (thanks Forum)

Thanks to the forum we've done a couple minor mods to our JKU...
  • teraflex leveling kit
  • 1.5" spidertrax spacers
  • flipped the stock tires (so no white lettering showing)
  • stubby black antenna
  • tinted front side two windows (light as possible)
  • clear tint on front windshield
  • interior handles on their way for backseat (roll bar and headrest)
  • wrangler unlimited side stickers removed

Wishlist
285/70/17 tires Toyo AT2

Think thats it for now - wifeys ride she's happy to be out of our (previously owned) lifted suburban - so thats what matters
